Hutarovich and Amialiusik win Belarus road race titles
On Sunday 29th June the Belarus national championships finished in Mozyr by the road race.
All the best Belarusian riders, including those riding for world top teams, participated in the event. The Ag2r La Mondiale rider Yauhen Hutarovich claimed the national road race title in the finishing sprint proving again his reputation of a strong sprinter. Kanstantsin Siutsou (Team Sky), who triumphed the time trial, this time was second. Aliaksandr Kuchynski (Katyusha) finished on third position.
The women’s road race was more predictable. Two Alena – Amialiusik (Astana Be Pink) and Sitsko (Forno d'Asolo-Astute) – run away at the third lap and increased their advantage over the peloton by the finish, where they fought for the win. Finally, Amialiusik won adding the road race national title to her time trial title. Sitsko was second, Svetlana Stagurskaya representing the Vitebsk region finished third.
The U-23 men’s road race was dominated by riders of the Minsk region. Nikolay Shumov won the title finishing ahead of Nikita Zharoven. Aleh Ahievich (Minsk) closed top-3.
In the U-23 women’s road race Ksenya Tuhai, Amialiusik teammate in Astana Be Pink, claimed the victory. Marina Shmayenkova (Moguilev region) was second, Inna Sayenko (Gomel region) finished third.
